Stand Alone
Click to Enlarge Stand Alone systems provide power to a household that is not connected to the electricity grid. Energy is collected by photovoltaic panels and stored in batteries. An "inverter" converts this energy into 240 Volt AC power which is used by the appliances and lighting in the household as normally. Energy efficient appliances and lights are recommended where possible, and each system is designed around the energy requirements of a particular household. Stand Alone systems may be roof based, ground based or constructed as a solar shed.
For more detailed information on our Stand Alone sytems, download a copy of our Manual and Maintenance Instructions (7.76 Mb). For existing customers, please download Log Sheets from the Downloads Page.
Grid Connect
Click to Enlarge Grid Connect systems produce power for households that are already connected to the electricity grid. Energy is collected by photovoltaic panels which is converted by a "grid connect inverter" for immediate use by the household, with any unused power exported to the electricity grid. A meter installed by your power company monitors how much power you use and how much you export, crediting your account for that which you export. A Grid Connect system can be designed to reduce your power bills, or cut your energy costs to almost nothing. Energy efficient appliances and lights are recommended where possible, and each system is designed around the energy requirements of a particular household.
Emergency Backup Power
Click to Enlarge Emergency Backup Power systems are for households or businesses that are connected to the electricity grid, and provide temporary power during power outages (blackouts and brownouts). Emergency Backup Power systems can be designed and installed in conjunction with Grid Connect systems. Energy is collected by photovoltaic panels and stored in batteries. An "inverter" converts this energy into 240 Volt AC power which is used when the mains electricity cuts out.
